Samoyed from Belarus

Friendly, gentle, and devoted family dogs
This is our firstborn, who was born on June 14 this year. His name is Raphael. Want to meet him? Call, write!
The Samoyed is truly an ancient breed, selected by nomadic tribes in Siberia to herd their reindeer and double as sled pullers when needed.
Happiest when he is part of family life,
this breed needs to be with people.

It's known as the "Sammy smile," the slight, but discernible, upturned corners of the Samoyed's mouth. This is a happy, good-natured dog with a glass half-full attitude toward life and the people he lives with.

Samoyeds came to England in the late 1800s, sometimes as gifts from the Czar of Russia.
To this day, the Samoyed's reputation as an intelligent, dignified, family dog is well deserved.
He often chooses to dote on one special person in the household, but he is affectionate with everyone in the pack.
Samoyeds joined many polar expeditions, notably "Etah" who led Roald Amundsen's first trip to the South Pole.
The Samoyed is a medium-sized dog with a height ranging from 19 to 23 1/2 inches and weight from 50 to 65 pounds (23 to 29 kilograms).
Samoyeds are another of the truly easy-to-keep breeds, thriving on fairly small amounts of top quality food. Samoyeds tend to be hardy, long-lived dogs, often reaching 12 or 14 years of age.
